CSV party president Frank Engel continues to receive public support from the administration. After LSAP minister Dan Kersch stated his approval, minister Dieschbourg also underlined her support for Engel, who recently caused a stir in his own party when publicly arguing in favour of taxing of the wealthy.
Dieschbourg believes that Engel hit a nerve with his party colleagues when he raised awareness of the social injustices in the country. Dieschbourg therefore highlighted the importance of opening a dialogue on just and ecological tax reforms. However, the minister of déi Gréng did not want to comment on the possibility of introducing a taxation on direct inheritances, but rather explained that many directions were being considered.
When it comes to the planned dairy factory between Bettembourg and Dudelange, Dieschbourg noted that the case remained unresolved at the moment. Especially in the domain of environmental protection, many improvements could still be made, the minister believes.
The period for public consultations is over, which means that it is now the government's turn to critically double-check all aspects of the project. For Dieschbourg, it is especially the elevated usage of potable water reserves that poses a problem.
According to the minister, it is obvious that Fage's philosophy does not comply with the administration's expectations, nor the standard set by herself and the minister of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development Romain Schneider.
