Grand Duchess Maria Teresa welcomed pupils from the Lycée Vauban, children with special needs and young refugees from Afghanistan, Syria and Eritrea to a special children’s reception at the palace in Luxembourg City.
As part of the festivities, children visiting with the Centre of Intellectual Development (CDI) staged a specially-adapted performance of the national anthem using gestures and signs.
The Grand Ducal court website explained the visit was part of a campaign to raise awareness for children with special needs.
