After the Luxembourg Red Cross issued an urgent appeal for blood donations earlier this week, Grand Duchess Stéphanie decided to lead by example.
Blood reserves in Luxembourg are currently running low. Earlier this week, the Luxembourg Red Cross warned that remaining supplies could cover the country's hospitals for only about a week. As a result, the organisation appealed to all potential donors to come forward.
The Grand Duchess visited a transfusion centre to donate blood, setting an example for others to follow.
