On Friday, Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden, and High Commissioner for National Protection Guy Bley presented a new emergency guide containing practical advice for households on how to remain self-sufficient for three days in case of a crisis.

The handbook contains tips on preparing for situations such as power cuts, floods or cyber attacks.

"The next crisis is on its way", warned Gloden, highlighting the importance of making the country more resilient and ensuring the public are well-prepared.

The guide has four sections, covering, among other things, why it is important to be prepared for a possible emergency, and includes a checklist of things Luxembourg residents should have at home.

These items include long-life food, water, light, batteries, a first aid kit, a radio, a power bank and any necessary personal documents. The guide will be distributed in Luxembourgish and French between 14 and 16 October and is part of the National Resilience Strategy.

The guide can be found in English here and a QR code with information will be shared through the post.
