Fatal work accidentGoodyear issues statement but reveals no details about Saturday incident

RTL Today
Goodyear has released no additional details about Saturday's fatal workplace accident that claimed the life of a 46-year-old employee.

In its first public statement following a fatal work accident at its production site last Saturday, Goodyear did not provide any additional details.

Luxembourg police confirmed Sunday that a Goodyear employee died Saturday morning following an industrial accident at the company’s local production facility. According to information obtained by RTL, the incident occurred shortly after 7am in the plant’s laboratory during tyre testing operations, when a loose screw reportedly struck the worker in the head.

In a brief statement, Goodyear expressed being “profoundly saddened” and offered condolences to the employee’s family, friends, and colleagues. While emphasising cooperation with investigating authorities, the tyre manufacturer provided no specifics about the accident’s circumstances or any planned safety improvements.

The company’s limited disclosure maintains Goodyear’s established pattern of minimal transparency following workplace incidents.

The victim was 46 years old and the father of a 6-year-old child.
