Minister for the Environment Carole Dieschbourg was also present. She took advantage of the event to present a new awareness campaign targeting illegal waste dumping.
"Garbage can be deadly, don't throw anything into nature," one of the campaign's slogans reads. The message is abundantly clear: Luxembourg's forests, fields and waterways are no dumping ground.

Illegal waste dumping is punishable under Luxembourg's law. If you are caught red-handed, you will be slapped with a fine of €24-to €250. Last year, 227 people were fined for unlawful waste disposal.
