The WSA manages military depots in Sanem and Steinfort. The main clients of the WSA remain the US air force and European countries that stock military equipment in Luxembourg. Representatives of the agency said that the future prospects were good.
The WSA no longer stocks and services weapons. Instead, they primarily keep and repair material such as electric generators, building machines and rescue vehicles.
The agency was founded during the steel crisis in the 1970s. The WSA mainly cooperates with the American air base in Ramstein, Germany. Shareholders are the government and ArcelorMittal. Within Luxembourg, the WSA cooperates with the national army.
A 1978 treaty between the US and Luxembourg rules out the stocking of ammunition in WSA depots. The agency currently boasts around 160 employees. According to representatives, the US will stock more material in Luxembourg in the upcoming years, which is hoped to benefit the Grand Duchy's economy.
