
Public transport will be free from 4 am on 31 December through to just before midnight on 1 January 2020. This will apply to all trains and buses, with the caveat that first class on trains remains at a fee.
There will also be special timetables for the festive period.
As is tradition, all public transport will stop at 8 pm on Christmas Eve. This applies to Adapto services too.
Special timetables for the Adapto services are in effect as follows:

Trains:
The CFL will offer public transport on Christmas Day and Boxing Day following the bank holiday schedule.
Buses :
AVL, CFL, RGTR, and TICE buses will end services at 8 pm on Christimas Eve and will resume service at 8 am on Christmas Day, following bank holiday schedules. On 26 December, buses will follow usual bank holiday timetables. The TICE Late Night Bus will not be in service overnight on Christmas Day.
The City of Luxembourg's Call-a-Bus service will offer serves as usual, with the except of Christmas Eve. AVL bus services can be found on the sylvestre.vdl.lu website.
Tram :
During the Christmas period, the tram will operate as follows:
On Tuesday 24 December: from Luxexpo to Etoile: final departure from Luxexpo at 8.24 pm
From Etoile to Luxexpo: final departure at 8.42 pm.
On Wednesday 25 December: from Luxexpo to Etoile - first departure at 7.04 am and final departure at 11.34 pm.
From Etoile to Luxexpo - first departure at 7.22 am and final departure at 11.52 pm.
On Thursday 26 December: Sunday schedule.
Trains
Trains will run all night long on New Year's Eve. Between midnight and 6 am, special trains will run once per hour in both direction between:
• Troisvierges and Rodange (via Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette)
• Wasserbillig and Rodange (via Luxembourg and Dippach)
• Luxembourg and Kleinbettingen
Bus
On 31 December 2019, CFL, RGTR and Tice buses will operate normally (night service included). Luxembourg City announced that the seven lines of the City Night Bus and several normal bus lines will operate at night on New Year's Eve. In other words, several normal bus lines will have an extended schedule and run until 5.30 am in the morning. The City Night Buses will operate like on any other day (until 6.30 am). On 1 January 2020, AVL, CFL and RGTR bus service will resume at 8 am. TICE buses will follow their bank holiday schedule. People with reduced mobility will be able to use the Call-a-Bus service until 5 am on 1 January. Individuals who wish to use this service should book their Call-a-Bus as they normally would by calling 4796-4797. Additional information can be found on callabus.vdl.lu.
Several municipalities also organised special transport services.
Tram :
On New Year's Eve, trams will circulate without interruption until the morning hours of 1 January (at a frequency of every 15 minutes from 9.45 pm onward):
• Luxexpo – Stäreplaz/Étoile: last departure at 5.45 am
Trajet Stäreplaz/Étoile – Luxexpo: last departure at 6.03 am

Offices and points of sale
The customer centre Mobilitéitszentral will close its doors on 24 December at 7 pm and reopen on 25 December at 9 am. The call centre will follow these opening times. The mobility centre in Belval is closed on bank holidays.
The AVL "Info Box" offices will close at 5 pm on 24 and 31 December.
The TICE booth in Esch will be open between 7.45 and 11.45 am on the mornings of 24 and 31 December. It will be closed on 25 and 26 December. The call centre will be open between 8 am and noon, and between 1 pm and 5 pm on 24 and 31 December. It will be closed on 25 and 26 December.
