On Friday morning, the Grand Ducal police conducted speed checks on the A13 after the Ehlerange tunnel. 16 people were fined €145 and had 2 points taken off their licences for speeding in the 90 km/h zone.

Four other drivers, however, had their licences confiscated on the spot. They were caught speeding at 141, 142, 155 and 157 km/h respectively. In addition, other motorists received warnings due to infractions such as wrong tyres, missing papers, or not switching their lights on in the tunnel.

Elsewhere, police received reports of people breaking into cars in the capital. A vehicle on Boulevard Royal had its window smashed overnight. It is not known if anything was stolen.

In Cents, another vehicle was targeted by thieves, who stole two handbags, cash and a pair of sunglasses.
