There are suspicions in northern Luxembourg that a wolf has killed several calves, though no official confirmation has been provided as yet.

Four calves have been reported killed in the north of the country since last week. According to two local sources who spoke to RTL, three calves were reportedly killed between Brachtenbach and Eschweiler last week, with a fourth calf reportedly killed on Monday.

In photographs taken at the scene of the most recent incident on Monday, an animal can be seen with its flesh partly gnawed down to the bone.

Affected farmers suspect that a wolf was responsible for the deaths. However, official confirmation is still pending. Analyses by the Nature and Forest Agency (ANF) have yet to be carried out.
