
At 7.00 a.m. on Saturday, a burglar entered a bakery in Esch-sur-Alzette. Police were able to identify and arrest the perpetrator over the course of the investigation. The man already faced an examining magistrate.
Four private homes also fell victim to burglaries overnight. They occurred on Rue des Romains in Senningerberg, on Rue Arsène Mersch in Koerich, on Rue des Carrières in Weimershof, and on Rue de la Poste in Rambrouch. Police deployed a crime scene investigation team to each location.
Police further conducted a routine check at a parking near Berchem last night. They stopped a car with two passengers and found a number of stolen objects inside the vehicle. One of them then admitted to having nicked the items from other cars. Officers arrested one person and seized the car by order of the prosecutor’s office. A body search later also showed that the person also carried a minor amount of drugs, for which another complaint was filed.
Shortly before 7.00 a.m. on Sunday, a wrong-way driver caused an accident on the A4 motorway near Leudelange, after which the right lane had to be closed temporarily. The man suffered minor injuries in the process. Since his alcohol test came back positive, the prosecutor’s office ordered his arrest. He is currently waiting to face an examining magistrate.
