Georges Mischo, sworn in as a Member of Parliament just last week, has been appointed as a senior government advisor for a seven-year term. His nomination was published in the Official Gazette on Monday.

Mischo, the former Labour and Sports Minister for the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV), is not the first former minister to assume such a role after leaving government. Other ex-ministers, including Paulette Lenert, Claude Wiseler, and Octavie Modert, have also been appointed as senior advisors following the end of their ministerial tenures.

Before entering politics, Mischo worked as a PE teacher. He resigned as Minister of Labour and Sport in early December following criticism related to the ‘Sports Museum affair’. His former responsibilities have since been reassigned: Martine Hansen has taken over the Ministry of Sport, and Marc Spautz is the new Minister of Labour.
