During his tenure as mayor, Roberto Traversini allowed the path to the house with the garden shed to be repaved without requesting permission from the municipal council.
The private part of the municipal session continued to focus on the details of Traversini's misconduct, with municipal councillor Francois Meisch being one of those pressing for details.
In addition to Traversini's known conflict of interest, it now transpires that he made arrangements to repave the path by the house at the centre of the scandal. Without informing the council, he signed contracts with an electrician firm and businessman to the costs of €130,000. The issue resides in the fact that in Differendange, the residents of the street must pay a third of the costs for such work.
Consequently, given his lack of municipal permission, the work has been labelled unauthorised and the municipality has forwarded a bill of approximately €35,000 to Traversini. Meisch confirmed that the council will not be pursuing Traversini legally for this matter.
