According to the latest report published by the Ministry of Health, influenza is on the rise in Luxembourg, while Covid numbers remain stable.

In the 47th week of the year, from 17 to 23 November, the number of coronavirus cases in Luxembourg rose from 65 to 67, an increase of just 3% compared to the week before.

The concentration of the virus in wastewater networks rose somewhat. According to the latest data, the XFG and XFG.3 variants were most prevalent, at 54.2% and 29.1% respectively.

Influenza

The number of flu cases recorded in Luxembourg’s laboratories rose from 50 to 75 in the same week. 95% of these were Influenza A, and 5% Influenza B.

Respiratory syncytial virus

There was a 30% increase in RSV infections, with 83 confirmed cases compared to 64 the week before. Since October 2025, 75% of the infections affect children aged 7 and under, showing that young people are particularly at risk.
