
At 4.15 p.m., police were alerted to a driver who impeded traffic on Rue du Château in Remich by stationing his car on the road. When officers arrived, they found the driver asleep behind the wheel. The subsequent alcohol test came back positive.
At 8.15 p.m., a motorist overlooked a stop sign when switching from the A4 to the A13 motorway. He then crashed into another car, which was flipped over from the impact. The alcohol test of former driver came back positive.
At 10.45 p.m., a driver caused a crash on Rue Principale in Everlange, after which the vehicle ended up in roadside ditch. The driver later tested positive for alcohol.
At 3.50 a.m., police were alerted to a reckless driver on the A13 motorway near Frisange. A patrol stopped the motorist at the Frisange exit soon after. He also tested positive for alcohol.
In all four cases, officers revoked the driving license.
From 11.00 p.m. to midnight, police also conducted a routine check on Rue de Gasperich in Hesperange. Similarly, controls were made on Rue de Rollingergrund (from 1.00 to 2.00 a.m.) and on Rue des Aubépines (from 3.00 to 4.00 a.m.) in Luxembourg City.
Police stopped and checked a total of 119 motorists, out of whom eight tested positive for alcohol. Officers thus issued eight fines and revoked the driving license in one case.
