At 7.30pm, five cars were involved in a pile up on the A1 towards Gasperich. The collision happened just behind the Irrgarten roundabout.
Both lanes had to be closed in order to allow emergency services and clean-up services to access the many severely damaged vehicles. Three people were injured in the collision.
Another crash occurred on the same A1 motorway between Kirchberg and the Cents tunnel at 9.15pm. Three vehicles collided, injuring three people in the process.
Shortly after 9pm, a car skidded off the road into the road embankment between Wallendorf-Pont and Dillingen on the RN10.
At 9.30pm, a car crashed into a tree on Rue Guillaume in Belair, injuring the driver. Shortly after midnight, a car crashed on the A13 towards Petange between Kayl and Schifflange. The driver sustained injuries in this incident as well.
