Amid the current dry weather, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) was called out eight times between Monday evening and early Tuesday morning due to fires.

Shortly after 5pm, firefighters in Luxembourg City were called to Avenue Jean-Pierre Pescatore in Ville Haute of Luxembourg City, where a hedge had caught fire.

Half an hour later, rubbish caught fire on Rue Henri Dunant in Esch-sur-Alzette. Firefighters from Esch attended the scene.

Further incidents followed throughout the evening. Shortly after 6.30pm, a fire broke out in a sauna on Rue des Thermes in Strassen, prompting firefighters from Bertrange and Mamer to attend and extinguish the blaze.

At around 7pm, firefighters from Käerjeng and Pétange were called to the Schéckelscheier forest near Bascharage. Just over 15 minutes later, another fire was reported in Ellange, where a flower pot had caught alight in the Le Triangle Vert business park. Firefighters from Mondorf-les-Bains attended the scene.

The evening's call-outs continued in the south of the country, with firefighters from the Sanem-Differdange rescue centre responding twice to burning rubbish. The first incident occurred shortly before 8pm on Route de Pétange in Niederkorn, followed by another on Rue Pierre Martin in Oberkorn.

The final reported incident came shortly after midnight, when rubbish caught fire on Rue des Prés in Bascharage. Firefighters from Käerjeng were once again called to the scene.
