
A large-scale fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in Zittig, a small village in the commune of Bech, located in the canton of Echternach. According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), the blaze started around 1pm when the facade of a house caught fire.
The flames quickly spread to the roof and then to the adjoining house.
Around 50 firefighters from multiple stations – including Echternach, Junglinster, Luxembourg, Manternach, and Mertert – were deployed to the scene. Emergency crews were able to bring the fire under control quickly. No injuries were reported.
