The first Luxair engines were started shortly after 6 am, with destinations set for Spain, Malta and Portugal.
Around 13,600 passengers will fly with Luxair to various holiday destinations this Easter weekend, says Dan Colling, member of the Luxair management team.
The Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Porto, Rome and London are the most popular destinations. Connecting flights such as via Paris are also part of the agenda.
Colling also expects Luxair-Tours flights to increase as soon as the school holidays start, which will account for up to 50% of all Luxair flights.
The entire fleet comprised of 21 aircraft will therefore be in service over this weekend.
After the successful carnival holidays, things continue to look good for Luxair ahead of the Easter holidays. Bookings for this summer have also been flowing in for weeks.
Luxair also set a new record for passenger transport in 2023, with around 2.5 million customers.
