Two cars collided in a head on smash on Thursday afternoon on the road connecting Dillingen to Wallendorf-Pont.
Initially the serious accident caused two serious injuries to a woman and a man.
According to the police investigation, the collision resulted from an ill-judged overtaking manoeuvre carried out by the vehicle coming from Wallendorf-Pont. The car approaching in the other direction could not avoid the collision.
On Friday morning, the authorities have confirmed that the female driver had succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at hospital.
She was from Berdorf and was 55 years old. The other person involved was also seriously injured.

The road in question was again closed to traffic on Friday morning to allow the scientific police to conduct a trace survey.
