The coronavirus crisis created additional stress and constant overwork. Eischen wants to put his career on hold for the time being to thoroughly take care of his health, and will therefore temporarily no longer serve as mayor of Kehlen.
The news was made public at the last meeting of the town council, which Eischen did not attend. The current first alderman of Kehlen, Guy Scholtes of the LSAP, will take over in the interim. CSV councillor Lucien Koch, who was an alderman until December, will return to his post as acting alderman.
Félix Eischen has also been a member of parliament since 2009 as well as general secretary of the CSV. He will continue to sit in parliament, but the position of general secretary of the party will be taken over by his two deputies, Kimi Mosel and Paul Galles.
