MPs originally passed the exemption in response to staff shortages during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The law will now remain in force until the end of year.
During the debate, several MPs stressed that the sector cannot rely on these workers “forever”.
There was a general consensus that the course needs to be set as soon as possible to ensure that there will be enough qualified staff to fill posts in the health professions in the future.
