“Every opportunity to negotiate the Ukraine-Russia conflict must be taken,” Jean Asselborn told the “Acht Milliarden” podcast by German newspaper der Spiegel.
As things stand, it appeared difficult to believe in a diplomatic solution to the conflict, said Asselborn, as a country could not declare war and negotiate simultaneously. However, if an opportunity were to present itself, the European Union would have to be prepared to help the UN to enter into a dialogue with Russia.
