A CFL staff member notified the authorities on Thursday afternoon after they observed a person trespassing on the railway near Luxembourg’s central train station. The man was stopped and a quick identity check showed there was a European arrest warrant out for his capture. He was subsequently arrested and brought before magistrates.

Elsewhere, police arrested two suspected drug dealers in the Gare district. Officers observed a man selling drugs at around 3.30pm and followed him to Avenue de la Gare, where they were able to detain him. A physical search revealed 41 drug capsules, a large sum of cash and a mobile phone, all of which was confiscated. Officers also detained the buyer and confiscated his drug purchases. The dealer was arrested and brought before a judge on Friday.

Two hours later, police spotted a second suspected drug dealer on Rue du Fort Wedell. Officers found the man in possession of 16 grams of cannabis, cash and a phone, which they confiscated. He was also brought before magistrates on Friday afternoon.

Finally, two motorists were forced to hand over their licences due to driving under the influence. The first was caught in Bettembourg, the second crashed into a motorbike on the B4 in Hollerich, leaving the motorcyclist with mild injuries.
