Local leaf peepingEnjoy our forests at their best

If you have no gravesite to visit tomorrow, why not take a forest bath and enjoy the explosion of colours currently on offer?

The Japanese concept of “shinrin yoku”, or forest bath, has been taken up in the west, as we try to escape our stressful daily lives if just for a brief moment. There is even a dedicated Forest Bathing Path near Ettelbruck, with signs that give you ideas on how to mindfully engage with the forest.

But a simple walk in the woods is enough to fill your heart with joy and your eyes with colours. The window is short where the trees are at their most intense, before they shed their leaves for winter. If you venture into the Gruenewald, where our photos were taken, you can combine it with a visit to the Raschpëtzer site above Walferdange.

Luxembourg’s lush forests truly are one of its (not so) hidden wonders.
