The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) presented its annual report at a press conference on Thursday, noting that Luxembourg's emergency services responded to 75,814 incidents in 2025, an increase of 5% compared with the previous year.

Around 90% of call-outs involved people requiring assistance, accounting for more than 68,000 interventions.

The Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) was deployed around 10,000 times, while CGDIS crews responded to 2,665 reports of fires. However, an actual fire was found in only 40% of those cases. Emergency teams were also called out to 2,056 accidents.

The 112 emergency call centre handled 258,000 calls. This was slightly more than in 2024, but fewer than in 2023.

More than 7,300 people work across Luxembourg's emergency services, with volunteer firefighters making up the majority of the workforce.

CGDIS expenditure also rose to more than €200 million, mainly due to increasing staff costs.
