
The accident occurred on Monday morning around 8am at a place called Keiwelbaach that lies between Reisdorf and Ermsdorf.
According to the police, 2 cars collided: one holding two passengers travelling from Bettendorf, the other with only one driver from Reisdorf, both heading towards Ermsdorf.
While the occupants of the first car got out of the accident unscathed, rescue services had to see to the lone driver before calling the emergency helicopter.
The incident caused the temporary closure of the road, however all vehicles were cleared and the road reopened before 10am.
Police have issued a call for any witness who might have observed and may be able to shed light on the details on the accident. Two other motorists were on the arrived at the scene, who the police was unable to interrogate. One of them spoke French, nothing is known of the other.
