According to the newspaper Tageblatt, the ECDC counted cross-border workers who work in Luxembourg and were tested positive for Covid-19 in the Grand Duchy twice.

The article, published by the Luxembourgish newspaper, states that these people were included both in the figures for Luxembourg, and then a second time in those of their countries of residence. Approximately 1,500 cases were counted twice.

Thus, the recent and not uncontroversial decision by the National Health Authority to exclude cross-border workers from their publications would have probably corrected the European figures.
