During the Advent season, Christmas decorations abound in each locality, delighting every resident and visitor. Now, Easter is right around the corner, and the first thing that catches people’s eye are the many Easter-themed decorations embellishing villages and towns alike.
Wood carved Easter bunnies and colourful Easter eggs with blooming flowers grace the public space of various localities in Luxembourg, bringing a smile to everyone driving by.
In Walferdange, for example, mayor François Sauber explains in conversation with RTL that all these decorations were made by the municipal services, emphasising how much excitement these decorations bring to people. Walferdange becomes a hotspot for families and friends who take pictures all around, says Sauber with joy.
Indeed, people are eager to leave behind the grey winter months in order to enjoy the beauty of nature and the blooming flowers. The many decorations even serve as sources of inspiration for people thinking about how they could embellish their homes during Easter.
In this regard, Sanem mayor Simone Asselborn-Bintz details how she always has in mind the decoration of each locality according to each season, giving special attention to spaces where people meet regularly. The wood carved Easter bunnies gracing the different spots of Sanem were made by municipal carpenters – an initiative that has received very good feedback from residents of the municipality, who appreciate the effort to embellish public space, tells us Asselborn-Bintz with a big smile.
