On Thursday morning, police received a report of an accident involving a van and an e-scooter at the junction of Rue des Jardins and Route de Longwy in Pétange. A police patrol attended the scene and spoke to those involved.

A drug test carried out on the e-scooter rider returned a positive result. He was taken to hospital with injuries following the accident.

When officers inspected the e-scooter, they also discovered that its maximum speed significantly exceeded the limit permitted by law.

An investigation has been launched to establish the exact circumstances of the collision.

In a separate incident during the night into Friday, police received a report of a car being driven in Belair with a damaged tyre. A patrol located the vehicle shortly afterwards.

A breathalyser test carried out on the driver was positive, and her driving licence was confiscated.
