Witnesses alerted the police but a pedestrian had already pulled the man from the tram tracks when officers arrived at the scene. The man represented a risk to himself and others and was consequently put in the police's drunk tank to sober up.

The man, however, had no intention of cooperating with the officers and started to resist the arrest and hurl insults at the police. He was brought under control and taken to the hospital for a medical check-up. He continued to resist police and headbutted one of the officers. He was eventually put into the drunk tank and a formal complaint was lodged.

He was not the only drunk person to resist police: on Sunday night, an inebriated bus passenger refused to get off the bus.

When officers eventually managed to convince him to get off the vehicle, he started being aggressive and shouting at pedestrians. He also spent the rest of the night in the cells to sober up.

Around 4 am, another drunk individual decided to riot inside a pub and, once outside, started to throw stones at the building. His drunken escapade also ended inside the drunk tank.
