Police officers in Niederkorn immediately checked for injuries following the crash, and were met with a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the passenger compartment.
The driver of the car was not injured, but a breathalyser test came back positive. His license was confiscated until further notice.
In Kehmen, a motorist crashed head-on into a garden wall. The drive got out, removed both license plates from his car and made a run for it. The plates were found a little further away in a field.
In his attempt to escape, the man, who was clearly in a hurry, fell down an embankment and injured himself. He was quickly found by police and transported to hospital for treatment. He had drunk too much, resulting in a withdrawn license.
