
A police patrol in Rumelange stopped a vehicle on Rue des Martyrs in the night to Saturday. An initial search revealed a bag containing cannabis, 15 packets of cocaine, cash, a knife and pepper spray. A more intensive search uncovered more cannabis, a smartphone and utensils used for drug consumption. These were all confiscated, along with the vehicle itself, and the driver was fined.
In Luxembourg City, police received reports of a mugging on Place du Six Juin at 1.30am. According to initial reports, a woman was knocked to the ground by a man who then stole her handbag. He succeeded in escaping. An investigation has been launched in the meantime.
Shortly afterwards, a man was attacked by two other men on Rue de Trèves. The perpetrators tried to steal the man’s bracelet, but were discouraged when their victim fought back. They threw him to the ground and took his mobile phone before attempting to flee the scene. Fortunately, the police were able to locate the attackers. A body check returned negative results and they both were issued with written complaints.
