At around 5am, police in Esch-sur-Alzette pulled over and inspected a vehicle. The driver turned out to be inebriated. The individual, holding a French driving license, was prohibited from driving within Luxembourgish territory and a complaint was filed against them.
An hour later, reports of a car crash in Niederanven reached the police. Upon arrival at the scene in Waldhof, officers found a damaged vehicle, yet the driver had fled on foot upon spotting the approaching police car. Nevertheless, law enforcement swiftly located the individual after a brief search. The driver lacked both a driving licence and identification, and a breathalyser test confirmed that they were heavily inebriated. A temporary driving ban was imposed, and both driver and passenger were admitted to hospital for evaluation.
