At around 2.30am on Tuesday morning, a driver crashed their car into the front of a house on route du Vin in Remerschen.

According to the police, the driver had already raised suspicion due to their erratic driving style prior to the incident. Following the crash, two people left the car and tried to escape.

The two individuals ran to a local petrol station, where they were picked up by two cars with French number plates. A police patrol was immediately despatched to the petrol station and was able to stop one car that was speeding towards the A13 motorway. Among the car's passengers was the driver responsible for the accident.

After a breathalyser test revealed that they were in fact intoxicated, the driver's licence was confiscated on the spot. The police drew up a report of the incident.
