Apart from the fine, the owner also has to take his dog to training classes and pay the victim an additional €300 in damages.
The incident occurred last year in May. The owner went on an off-leash walk with his dog in a park in Mersch. His Jack Russell then bit another dog.
The public prosector on the case had initially recommended a 2-year suspended prison sentence because the accused had already been sentenced to a fine in April for a similar offense.
