The areas affected are the A1 between the Howald tunnel and the Sandweiler exit, and on the A13 between the Aessen and Ehlerange tunnels.
The works will cause the occasional lane closure in the affected areas, and speed restrictions of 70 km/h will apply.
The existing street lighting in these areas is outdated and spare parts no longer easy to come by.
As maintenance work has become so difficult, the decision has been made to remove these to save energy and reduce light pollution. The approach to the tunnels will remain illuminated.
Closures are as follows:
From Tuesday, August 20 at 10 am until Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 4 pm:
Closure of one lane on the A13 between the Aessen tunnel and the Ehlerange tunnel (in both directions).
Saturdays, August 24 and August 31, 2019:
Closure of one lane between the Howald tunnel and the Schaffner interchange (in both directions).
