Having fallen below €1.40 per litre at the start of the week, diesel will increase by 2.4 cents from midnight on Friday, bringing the new price to €1.417 per litre.
Despite the rise, diesel remains the cheapest fuel at the pump. The price of SP95 is unchanged at €1.458 per litre, while SP98 also holds steady at €1.571 per litre.
Domestic heating fuel is also affected, with prices increasing by 2.2 cents to €0.855 per litre.
