An " excessive presence of staphylococci” was detected in the product in question, the Delhaize own-branded"Reblochon de Savoie” soft cheese.
The supermarket has advised that customers do not consume the product, and instead return the cheese to the store in which it was purchased. The affected products have the following lot numbers: 307475 / 307482 / 307485 / 314492, with the use-by dates of 19-12-2023 / 21-12-2023 / 26-12-2023 / 28-12-2023. In a press release, Delhaize wrote that stricter quality controls would be put in place with their supplier. The affected items have already been withdrawn from shelves.
