Cyclists should enjoy uninterruped bike paths north to south and west to east, says the government.

An Zukunft soll een ouni Ënnerbriechung mam Vëlo vun Norden op Süden a vu Westen op Oste kommen - dat ass d'Zil vun der Regierung.

The current coalition's programme includes 18 projects for national cycle ways. One of them, PC 14 between Mersch and Schoenfels, was officially inaugurated this Tuesday, in the presence of the Minister for Mobility François Bausch.

After 25 years of planning and 3 years of actual works with some interruptions, this cycle way has been awaited for a long time - the previous mayor of Mersch had already given up.

The track allows you to cycle from Mersch to Schoenfels over 3.1km... after which you are stranded in traffic land. The next cycle way begins 6 km further on, between Keispelt and Quatre-Vents.

Getting there isn't exactly a breeze; you are squeezed on a narrow road between cars and trucks.

A safe cycle way allowing you to continue from Schoenfels to Mamer should be completed in 3-4 years.
