During a vehicle inspection, officers uncovered 3.66kg of cannabis hidden in two suspicious crates, aided by sniffer dogs Gwen and Balto.

The vehicle, registered in Luxembourg, was stopped for a routine check, during which the two male occupants denied carrying illegal goods. However, the dogs quickly flagged the crates, which contained the drugs carefully wrapped in cellophane.

Following the discovery, authorities conducted a house search of the suspects, deploying drug and explosives detection dogs. This search led to the seizure of an additional 800g of cannabis, two firearms with ammunition, and packaging materials typically used in drug trafficking.

Both suspects were promptly brought before the investigating judge, who ordered their arrest. The confiscated drugs and weapons have been handed over to the public prosecutor’s office.
