Romain Reitz, incumbent Mayor of Junglinster, has decided to step back from local politics after 20 active years and not run again in the 2023 municipal elections. In a statement, Reitz announced that he will complete the last months of his term with the same level of “dedication and ambition”, but stated that he intends to spend more time with his family and friends after stepping down.
Alderman Raphaël Schmitz will be the new CSV frontrunner in Junglinster. About a year ago, the 48-year-old politician took office to replace Françoise Hetto. The list of candidates also includes seven new faces.
