With the Chamber of Deputies nearing the end of its session, the CSV reflected on its parliamentary year during its traditional press dinner. A predominant theme were the proposed changes to working hours and pensions – an issue on which CSV parliamentary group leader Marc Spautz repeatedly stressed the importance of maintaining social dialogue.

One does not always have to be in full agreement in every discussion, but the overall direction has to be right, Spautz added ahead of Monday afternoon’s continued negotiations. He did not want to reveal any further details.
Spautz particularly called for greater flexibility regarding working hours and opening times, while stressing that trade unions cannot lose their representational role in the process.
