The slogan translates to ‘Time for a new kind of politics.’

Led by former Minister of Finance Luc Frieden, the party is aiming to regain a position in government, while also advocating for a policy agenda that reflects the evolving times, departing from the practices of two decades ago.

At the core of its campaign, the CSV emphasises unwavering loyalty to European values and NATO, underlining the importance of maintaining a strong stance in both domestic and foreign affairs.

To connect with voters, the CSV is trying to present a modern and dynamic image. Frieden stressed that Luxembourg can no longer afford “empty rhetoric” or “fickleness” in politics, stressing the need for tangible solutions to address issues that have intensified under the current government. The party’s goals include boosting purchasing power, adopting ecologically responsible practices, and revitalising the economy.

Frieden received a great deal of applause from CSV members during the event, but the most thunderous applause came when former Prime Minister of Luxembourg and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker was introduced.

Frieden expressed the party’s aspiration for a different coalition option post-election, aiming to deliver more housing, increased purchasing power, improved healthcare access, greater renewable energy adoption, and advancements in social, ecological, and economic policies. He concluded, “in this endeavour, I’m counting on you, and you can count on me too.”
