Crèche l’Abeille, financed by the European Investment Bank for its employees, will close its doors at the end of August, a decision that has infuriated both unions and the staff delegation.
44 employees are set to lose their jobs. Unfortunately, the dialogue between management, the bank and personnel delegation failed to include the employees that are now left with nothing. With no emails or letters to inform them of the decision, employees discovered about the crèche's fate via the parents.

The personnel delegation regrets not having entered in a dialogue with the employees, the latter having now filed a complaint with both the European Investment Bank and European Ombudsman in Brussels.
The crèche has a capacity of 100 and has an additional 150 children on the waiting list. Employees have expressed surprise that the well-functioning crèche will suddenly close down, despite high demand.
