Appeals courtCourt marginally reduces sentences in kidnapping case

RTL Today
Five men had been charged with three incidents of kidnapping towards the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015. The appeals court applied leniency to their sentences on Wednesday.

The incidents the trial revolved around included the victim being threatened with both a knife and a gun, as well as a friend of the victim being threatened with a knife.

The first trial sentenced defendants to prison terms ranging between four and 18 years. These sentences were reduced to ranging between two and 16 years in the appeals court, whilst the main victim's €5,000 in damages remained.
