The Court of Appeals, which reviewed the damages of the victim, has amended the amount to €25,000.
The assailant was charged with raping the victim on multiple occasions at a bar in Niederkorn between April and August 2011.
The woman in question had been at the mercy of her captor for months and claimed she had no alternative but to set a fire in order to escape. The woman herself received a 10 year sentence with probation for arson.
