The works on the first section of the A3 started at the beginning of April 2022 in the direction of Luxembourg-France over the 4-km-stretch between Croix de Gasperich and the Livange interchange.
This time, the works will start on the same motorway section but in the opposite direction. From Saturday 16 April at 8pm, the Bridges and Roads Authority will set up the construction site between Croix de Gasperich and the Livange interchange, in the direction of the capital.
During the construction period, “the hard shoulder will be removed to create working space”, the Bridges and Roads Authority warns. As with the existing construction site, the width of the two traffic lanes will be reduced, and speed will be limited to 70 km/h on the section.
To limit the impact on traffic, two lanes of traffic will be guaranteed for the duration of the work. However, some occasional one-lane blockades, leading to one-lane traffic, will be necessary. However, the Bridges and Roads Authority assures motorists that this will only occur “outside of rush hours”.
A first roadblock is therefore already scheduled from Saturday 16 April at 8pm until Monday 18 April at 7am. Traffic will be diverted to one lane and the speed limit will be 70 km/h. The completion of this first stage is scheduled for September 2024.
