The main construction work is set to start on Monday after preparatory work wrapped up on Sunday.
Apart from Büchler bridge, construction will also start on the new N3 road leading towards Howald. The old N3 (Route de Thionville) will be partially rebuilt to calm traffic in that area.
The main construction work is expected to be done by early 2021. Luxtram construction work will however take another couple of months. The first tram is expected to cross the new and improved Büchler bridge in September 2021.
All in all, the project is expected to come in at about €25.2 million.
Expect traffic to be even slower than usual over the coming couple of weeks. The current tram construction site is moving along nicely and from this weekend until Wednesday, underground pipelines are being installed on the Boulevard Joseph II intersection and on Avenue Emile Reuter.
