20 people wrote an open letter to the government concerning the future of radio station 100,7.

In the context of the ongoing tensions between the management and editorial staff at 100,7, 20 people have signed an open letter to the government requesting an independent public-law radio station.

The signatories advocate a public radio, with journalism independent of political influence, which they say will make an important contribution to securing diversity of opinion. The letter also calls for public debate on the future of the radio station.

Notably the composition of the board of directors and the exclusion of a merger between a public radio and a commercial medium feature highly on the letter's priorities.

Among the signatories are unionists Jean-Claude Reding, Patrick Arendt and Nico Wennmacher, as well as figures from from the environmental sector such as Blanche Weber and Théid Faber.

Also on the list are Francis Schartz and Raymond Weber of the Sustainability Council, as well as historians Denis Scuto, Michel Pauly and Luc Heuschling, to name a few.
